Julie is the Director of All Parks Insurance, a company she founded in 2011 that was built entirely around understanding and protecting the unique nature of our holiday parks. For almost 30 years, Julie has dedicated herself to the insurance needs of Australia's caravan and tourist parks, beginning in 1996 with her father's underwriting agency, Parks Insurance.
Julie's contribution goes far beyond business. She is the only insurance professional known to visit holiday parks in a rolling three-year rotation, regardless of whether they are clients or not. Her commitment to understanding the operations, challenges and risk profiles of parks firsthand is unmatched. She listens. She learns. She supports - often providing tailored risk advice with no expectation of return.
When the industry faced its most critical challenge in recent years - the tightening of insurance capacity - Julie did not walk away. Instead, she worked around the clock, engaged with global reinsurers, and sought solutions where others could not. Her tenacity saw her travel overseas, introducing foreign insurers to the high standards of Australian holiday parks, always being a passionate and professional advocate for our industry. Thanks to her, parks were covered through binders, meaning that many in our industry today remain insured and viable.
Julie has also been a tireless contributor to shaping our industry to be robust and forward-thinking. She has shared her expertise through panels, plenaries, and working groups - including her role in co-developing the National Insurance Roadmap and Risk Toolkit. Her trade stall, complete with her signature lollies, is a familiar fixture at all industry conferences, where she is always ready to listen, engage and offer sound advice, all with good humour.
Beyond her formal work, Julie continues to support the sector through regular sponsorship and maintaining a reliable presence at national, state and chain events. She is widely respected by park owners, managers, associations, and insurers alike.
Julie Pernecker's contribution reflects the spirit of the Eric Hayman Award - national impact, deep industry commitment, and an unwavering belief in the strength of Australia's caravan park community. Her efforts have supported individual businesses and helped to safeguard our industry's future.

The CCIA NSW Awards of Excellence brings together the best in the industry, celebrating outstanding achievements across a number of categories. This year’s event saw industry leaders come together to celebrate the remarkable contributions that drive the success of NSW's caravan, camping, and land lease living sectors.
CEO of CCIA NSW, Lyndel Gray, praised the winners for their dedication and innovation in the industry.
"These awards showcase the exceptional talent and innovation driving our industry forward. It’s inspiring to see such dedication to customer service, sustainability, and community engagement, and we congratulate all the winners on their remarkable achievements."
Recognising outstanding business performance and support of the association, this year’s award was presented to All Parks Insurance.
Julie Pernecker’s All Parks Insurance has had an incredibly challenging two years getting overseas capacity to cover property and liability terms for Victorian caravan parks from an insurance market that had abandoned Australia. It took an incredible toll on her business and herself personally with Julie spending every waking hour convincing insurers to back her business and our industry while placating and educating frightened park operators.
The breakthrough she ultimately achieved gave the industry the lifeline it needed at just the right time and we are very grateful for her fantastic efforts on our behalf.
Julie Pernecker of All Parks Insurance in NSW has won the Valerie Baker Memorial Award.
Wyong-based All Parks specialises in the niche caravan and holiday parks sector.
Award judges say they were impressed with Ms Pernecker's success in developing the business, raising awareness of insurance and promoting goodwill among clients.
The Valerie Baker award recognises professional excellence in broking and underwriting. Ms Pernecker was announced as winner at the Steadfast Convention in April this year.
She will take up the prize of a trip to the London market in July, where she will attend an intensive five-day course in broker management at the Chartered Insurance Institute, meet senior Lloyd's executives and spend time at the market.
Gold Seal MD Sheila Baker says visiting the heart of the London market will provide a host of experiences to benefit All Parks Insurance.
The award honours Ms Baker's late sister Valerie, who founded Gold Seal. Other finalists were Emily Winwood of Dual Asia-Pacific and Fintan Magee of Network Insurance Group.

All Parks Insurance was presented with a prestigious Award of Excellence at the 2013 Caravanning and Camping and Manufactured Housing Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner, on 1st August at The Star, Sydney. All parks Insurance was awarded Best Industry Service Provider. Lyndel Gray, Chief Executive Officer of the Caravan, Camping and Touring Industry and Manufactured Housing Industry Association of NSW (CCIA), said the awards are an acknowledgement of the high standard and excellent quality products and services within our industry in NSW.
There were 21 winners amongst the 69 finalists and 4 businesses achieved commendation awards. This is a great demonstration of the strength of the industry and the quality of its operators.
Judges commented on All Parks Insurance's high standard of service to cover the specialised needs of the caravan park proprietor. Judges were also impressed with their goal to become the market leader in this specialised field and provide to park operators the information and tools necessary to minimise loss exposure and therefore keep premiums as low as possible.
More than 240 industry members from across NSW assembled at The Star where the Awards of Excellence served as the grand finale of a two day conference (31 July-1 August).
Ms Gray said that the "Starry Starry Night" themed Awards of Excellence event would not have been possible without the support of our platinum sponsors, NSW Trade and Investment Crown Lands, Gold Sponsors; The Australian Turf Club and Destination NSW and Silver Sponsors; K-MAC Powerheads and What's Up Downunder?
"I congratulate all of this year's winners who have set excellent standards for our sector and for the tourism industry in NSW," Ms Gray said.
